Will subsidiaries like Waymo, Cruise Automation, Argo AI or, start-ups like Nuro, Aurora, Starsky Robotics, Voyage, Pony[dot]ai, DeepMap[dot]ai, TuSimple, Nauto, AutoX, Drive[dot]ai, Torc Robotics, Optimus Ride etc. ever go public?
The hardware folks already are ;-)
The stocks crashed so bad though
BTFD
No
Yes. But it will take 5 to 10 years for that to happen. They will go public so that their owners/investors can monetize the IPO.
No. Enjoy the VC money while lasts
This business model is MUCH more sustainable than the outsourced subsidized labor business model of postmates/Lyft etc. If the technology is safe and reliable, these companies deserve the big bucks
You probably have no clue with all the overhead you’re having when you have your own fleet. Taxis services are dying for a reason
Idk what you are trying to say bro
I'm biased but yes, mostly because "ever" is a long time, but likely the majority of them will be public within 5 years. Remember that the price of the cars only goes down over time, and the cars only get better at driving, there isn't ready a limit in either direction
No
No, they can’t even develop this technology. All those lidars with mapped cities. Meh.
OMG Elon is that really you talking? When did you learn to stop lying?
Think industrial logistics will benefits a lot more from the self driving technologies. Think about truck drivers, even just very basic lane keeping sysyem will greatly help reduce the fatigue and related risks. But sigh seems all of them are focusing passenger cars
TuSimple
No. Profitability is a big issue.
Hmmm...Makes sense. I guess they are more likely to get acquired. Apple has a quarter of a Trillion dollars in cash waiting in their banks. They will probably go shopping soon for their SPG efforts.
