Are you living the house? If yes..then STFU. If no...then know that real estate is a long term investment. Buy and hold unless you are a professional flipper. And even those guys lose money sometimes

    I bought a Bob-Burrito from door-to-door salesman 8 years ago for $6, and it's worth nothing now 😭

Hate to make you further depressed but your house isn’t down 100k, you just overpaid 100k when you bought.

You are doomed, sell immediately before it goes down even further.

On a serious note, I wish someone teaches kids these days that real estate is a long term investment, stop crying every time market goes a bit down.

Also what "estimate" means. Pulling an estimate off Zillow and Redfin won't get you the "what will someone pay for my house today" estimate.

Housing Market is always set to ups and downs unless you decide to sell it now off to actually see the realized loss it’s all unrealized now

The market value of your house is only meaningful if you're about to sell it.

That's true too, or if you're unfortunate enough to need to take out a HELOC

Gained 10% from buying a house late last year, guess you all just suck at pricing houses and not paying more than you need to.

Sounds like you should have waited to buy in winter instead of beating 8 other bidders for your house. The HPI is up 11% over the last 12 months and up 99.something since the market last bottomed out in 2012. It’s a long term gain.

Dude, this is why people should avoid leveraging themselves with housing. If it makes you feel any better, chances are very good you'll be fine if you're living in the place for ten years. You should still be better off than renting
