What is BA?

Business Analyst

Why would a business analyst need to know leetcode?

Network harder

Just networking won’t help in cracking Technical scenario based questions.

Have gone through data analyst/business analyst loops at FB, Google and Amazon recently and had very basic SQL knowledge before. I used Leetcode and Hacker Rank SQL questions to prepare. I'd also set up toy datasets in sqlfiddle to play around with different solutions. You should be fine if you can solve Leetcode easy, medium quickly and efficiently.  I've never been tested on python or any other language. But I think Hacker Rank does have a statistics course using python. You'd be better off just studying statistics though.

Many BA jobs at Amazon have zero code more than sql

I have worked as a BA for almost 4 years but I see mostly its generic questions. Do you know any BA’s in Amazon and what do they suggest for preparing for the interview ? Thanks !

PM me the job code and I'll find out tomorrow

For Google you want to know R as well, probably won't come up in interview but a big plus

So just strong SQL to crack BA interview ?

"Have basic SQL skill". Is this supposed to be in any way meaningful? Props for learning something but you will need to learn many more things and to a higher level than "basic" to get ahead. -after rereading title- Alright, step one: learn more than just basic SQL. Step two: Learn the basics of an actual programming language. Step three: learn more math/statistics that specifically relate to you job. Practical things. Step four: focus on getting along well with superiors such that you can have them help guide you to using all the newfound knowledge to build your accomplishments at Amazon.

Really depends. If you want to do a BA it is about 1. Sql 2. Biz acumen 3. Landing an interview (getting pass screening) As a ba you are expected to know stats and linear models, but those are not a prio.

Sql stuff like analytic functions is a must R / python is important but I do not think they interview you on that
