Work authorization after OPT expires but H1b rejection notice pending
Hi everyone, I was notified by my company that I can work in the US up until my current OPT expires or until I receive the rejection notice, whichever is later. Is this true? My OPT expires on 6/24, and my preference would be to stop working on that exact date due to lease + other issues. Thank you.
Go back now, else u will.never be able to come back to USA if you overstay your opt.

OP - does your company have immigration lawyer?
Unless your H1b is picked, you can’t work once the opt expires irrespective of when you get the H1b rejection notice
If your H1 gets picked up in the lottery the OPT is automatically extended till September 30th of that year or until you receive a rejection. Google “cap gap OPT”
Don't think so, one of my coworker has to move back to India as his OPT expired and no status update on H1B.
