The biggest difference is when I was at FB our product was humans, i.e. the main objective was to get more clear signal about who someone was so we can serve them better ads and get more ad revenue. At Uber we are creating a product to get people from A to B. It's a different mentality and the work culture reflects that.
am ex-FB, wlb is extremely similar. lotta type A strivers but nobody comes in before 9:30 or 10 and documentation is similarly crappy. we have bunnylol too
Not really. You don't get much more for outstanding work other than possibly getting promoted. The old Uber may have been like that
Stripes dope; don't come here. Code quality is garbage, everyone seems to just want to pile on new crap without caring about what it means for the future.
