I have been approached by a startup that recently raised a large series A. What are typical hours/week for a series A startup? At groupon I work 9-5 which is a good work life balance.
Interesting. I have been approached by a startup that recently raised a decent series A. One of their VPs claimed he works 7-4. Obviously a startup means people wear multiple hats and everything looks and often is urgent and you have to be flexible. But it doesn't necessarily mean 60 hours a week in average. Just ask them - it is in their best interest to set right expectations.
LOL. Yeah, the VP does that and he'll say you can manage your time anyway you like. The real story is only know to the engineers slaving their ass behind the scenes.
Maybe you should consider their hiring pattern right after raising the big Series A. If they're only hiring one or two people, they're probably expecting you to take on a lot, assuming that new cash is invested elsewhere. If they're hiring left and right then you probably would get more wlb.
Dont take their word for it.
My advice would be taken a good look at the product . If the product sucks and it's just a bunch of smoke and mirrors your going to work allot to plug holes for customers .
8:30-5 every day. I have kids and do the drop off and pick up
longer hours for sure ...can’t tell exactly but u need to put more then 60 hrs
