What have people heard about Oculus recently? Esp around leadership and how their focusing priorities for 2018 and beyond? I’ve heard from a few people around Oculus culture that didn’t seem super positive but rumors might just be rumors. Uber ATG’s VP of engineering (Jon T) just left Oculus which gave me some pause as well. Thoughts?
Same here
Oculus was a little awkward for a while but seems to be getting better. There was a management change that put in one of the better higher ups and it seems like it's getting better headway.
Would you mind expanding on what changes you’ve seen exactly? Just trying to get a more concrete idea of what I’m potentially putting myself into for the next 2-4 years
More focus/better prioritization. It's hard to deal with problems if the higher ups aren't good about acknowledging it; the current lead is excellent at addressing those awkward elephants in the room. Next 2-4 years will be a lot of rapid growth. If you get in soon and have the leadership/initiative for it, you may be able to position yourself well for some interesting green field projects.
