Working at Sunnyvale, no car, where to live

Hey, just got a job at big G in Sunnyvale. TC is 310. Moving from Irvine but previously was in seattle, so I have no idea of the south bay. No kids, so I dont care about good schools. Looking for the following:
Walkable to gym, groceries (I can just get them delivered if needed I guess though), preferably cool area with some restaurants shops etc around
Not an awful commute via walking, bus, gbus, vta, or cheap uber (30 min or less ideal)
Pretty high budget (willing to pay $3500) because I want something nice (dont know anyone so gonna be in my place a fair bit)
I don't and can't drive (low vision issue) so walkability is critical

Any advice?? I had looked at near Murphy st in Sunnyvale and Castro in MTV but the nice apts around there dont seem to have any availability.

Thanks!

You should consider leaving this state at some point, if possible. California doesn’t have walkable cities and the Bay’s public transit is mediocre at best compared to other parts of the country. For a young, high earner that wants a high quality of life without living through traffic in a mundane, beige suburb, DC and NY are the places to be.

Dc is honestly the best for young professionals. Not sure about sustainability though. Most people don’t stay there more than 5+ years so your friend group changes pretty regularly. Still my favorite city though.

The commute from the city is brutal, but if you’re single, living in the South Bay is far far more brutal than any commute.

Check out Avalon at Alameda in San Jose. Not a highly upscale apt but rents would be lower as well. You can walk to WholeFoods and SJ diridon station in 10-15 mins. Bus stop right outside the apt. And VTA bus 22 runs all night on El Camino. It can take you to Downtown SJ in no time.

The other option could be the Apts in Santana Row near the Valley Fair Mall. Those are quite upscale and pricey but you would be right in the midst of everything.

About an hour on a shuttle from Santana Row.
Not sure if Alameda has good connections to G. Caltrain and light rail will both take > 1 hour with some transfers.

If you are OK with long commute, did you consider San Francisco?

Yeah I have considered SF but that commute seems torturous, like 1.5+, right? I like cities vs suburbs way more but also dont wanna spend 3 hours a day commuting

Go a little further down near Lawrence expressway and Costco and you have tons of apts there as well. Similarly on Fair oaks as well. Check them out

Yeah those dont look bad. Nothing is really right by there, I guess the benefit being you walk 20 mins up to the shopping center north of it?

Here is what I would do, live close to G(fairoaks) that should solve your gym problem. Get your groceries delivered by amazon prime.

Is your vision not correctible with glasses?
If I may ask what’s the reason for low vision? As someone with high myopia, one if my biggest fears is ending up with poor vision that will restrict my activity.

Sunnyvale downtown, Mathilda, Castro, Cupertino downtown, Palo Alto downtown

It's just degeneration over time. I'm on some trial stuff so it isnt getting worse for now. Doctors recommended not driving and I havent since high school anyway

Villa del Sol near Murphy st.
It is near caltrain, shopping and Google SVL office.
    2b/1b is 3795.
I suppose it is as walkable as it gets in SVL...

Try Mathilda Ave. there’s N and S. Easy uber/lyft ride. A few. Private condos may open up. There’s also a Target near downtown Sunnyvale that has some commercial apartments nearby.
