I interviewed and got offer there. Didn’t get the impression the wlb is that great and aside from yes you can fly free on standby in coach whenever you want the comp sucked compared to literally anywhere else. Which makes sense it’s not like airlines are super profitable like tech and is heavily regulated.
Comp isn't the best, but isn't terrible. WLB has been great for me, but is very manager dependent.
Flight benefits rock. Yes, mostly coach but I've flown international business. Took spouse, my parents, siblings on an international trip for free. If you are down to travel a lot it is a great gig. I've been to six countries this year already, and could have done a few more if I wanted to.
I worked at AA for a few years. I have many friends that work there. Comp is competitive especially for the Dallas market. Flight benefits are great but requires flexibility in that you don’t travel when the masses do. Take vacation when no one else is..
Business doesn't pay as well as IT side. They really try to sell you on the flight benefits during the interview to make up for the low pay. WLB sucks and you dont get many opportunities to use your flight benefits because of the horrible WLB. Also, good luck getting on standby, the flights are usually full.
