Working for OfferUp
What is working for OfferUp like, compared to say, Microsoft or Facebook? I hear a lot of departures from OfferUp, and why is that? Are they in path to IPO? Are they stable?
OfferUp is some shitty “sell stuff on mobile app” company right? What do you think it would be like? Lol

It’s hard to explain how bad it is. Very immature leadership, toxic culture, and if you’re coming from a FAANG chances are you’ll be doing majority of the work for your team while your manager takes credit. They have a bunch of dimwits that can’t get jobs anywhere else trying to make it “fun” but the reality is the place is an energy suck. Stock options aren’t worth shit so base salary is it- be expecting a major pay cut.
High attrition rate - almost 100% senior dev left. Toxic culture- politics and management abuse. One director is extremely disgusting and 80% people reported to him quit - the hr deal with him left but he didn’t.
Just no. I'd rather go to Craigslist, shit looks like it's from 2001 and still better to use than OfferUp. And my boy Larry Wall works there.
