Poll question: on a scale of 1 (excellent) to 5 (horrible), what do you rate your eastside to seattle commute? How do you deal with the long commute? Best time to go to work and back if you have kids and want to be home before 6:30? Any tips on how to make the most out of it? My future company doesn’t provide shuttles. Would you use public transit or ride sharing? Thanks in advance.

Work an early day to avoid rush hour or you will hate yourself

Commute time is highly dependent on lane choice, HOV (or willingness to break the law) and how willing you are to drive like an east coaster

Drove in HOV for 4 years pretty much every day on 520 or 90 with no tickets.

I have been pretty happy with public transit + park and ride from eastside. Depends on how far you are from p&r and how early you leave (usually gets full before 9). I actually prefer reading books or watching youtube for 30~40 minutes over 20 minute drive.
