Why do people brag that they work long hours? What I hate most is hearing people working on the weekend. I'm not impressed dude, in fact I feel sorry for you. I work to live not the other way around. Work life balance is probably more important than TC to me. TC 120K
They will realize only on their death bed or in old age that all the long hours were useless
You will realize on your death bed that all of those 40 hour weeks were wasted. If you enjoy what you're doing 60 hours a week isn't a wait.
Lol, most people work 60 hours a week only for money or they have nothing else to do in life. Either way they will regret it in their old age. Ofcourse if u work along with passion, that's awesome irrespective of the hours
If you can’t get your work done in a reasonable time period, you are either poor at prioritizing and managing your workload or you aren’t proficient enough to complete your work in an appropriate amount of time.
.... Or more realistically you're being ask to complete tasks in unreasonable timelines.
Timelines are only unreasonable if you agree to them and can’t deliver. Emergencies occur and sometimes extra work is required to meet hard deadlines. Those situations should be exceptions. Otherwise, timelines are part of the negotiation that occurs between manager and direct report and falls under the skills of workload management.
You're totally right. But on the other side of it some people just really enjoy their work and they enjoy working late and on weekends because it's what makes them happy and fulfills them.
Btw, hows lucid motors doing? I thought the company looks quite great but want to hear from the employee.
Agree. However those people keep to themselves and I can tell are genuinely passionate. I admire those people. The fruitcakes I'm talking about keep bringing it up so that they can be validated and praised as a hard worker
I only worked long hours (even stayed nights in the office) when I felt I had something to prove. It was all in my head. I had to be #1 in everything. I got the highest bonuses in the team until I hit the ceiling and burnt out. It took me a few years to mentally get to a place where I was self confident enough to work reasonable hours. Meanwhile my colleagues have a life and I don’t have one beyond the office.
Just remember this, no one on their death bed wished they had worked more hours. Lol
How often do you think of your deathbed when you are in your twenties? Never. Those are the invincible years.
It's an American obsession. For some reason American workers are brainwashed to serve the interests of corporate overlords. More work more hours less vacation less benefits. slop a thick layer of fake plastic happiness over it and it's all a competition
Yea its really sickens me to my stomach
At will employment will do that
ok boomer
How's this a Boomer statement?
This is the opposite of what a boomer would say.
