In Amazon, I think usually more than half or the team members have strong character, in a negative way. Their aggressive and impolite attitude make the other good team members feel uncomfortable. The worst thing is, the good guys are pissed off and leaving the team or becoming another asshole to survive. Managers do nothing for this of course, they seemd to be encouraging it tbh. Is it same in the other FAANG companies?
Its very common in large corporate companies. Get the required experience and exit.
Amazon has notoriously bad culture. People often use LPs to win argument. I had a similar issue in AWS where it was just impossible to win an argument with few guys. Eventually I and others left, and guess what those guys are still there in that team. Have you taken amazon quiz of how peculiar you are?? Amazon promotes aggressiveness in general. Atleast people in G are more courteous and careful when speaking to their team members.
Hey alumnus! I have done the peculiar test but dont remeber the result. It recall it was a bit annoying but very shot. Been here for 2 years and already quite annoyed by the people and culture. The promotion driven devlopment culture is really toxic. I was thinking about moving to Microsoft as I heard their culture is more respectful and considerate. Your last line about the people in G is what I wanted to hear because I have a phone interview with G next week. 😁 pretty motivated. Thanks!

Pay attention to the LPs they're using. Use a different LP to deal with them.

I dont want to do what they do. It will only make me less nice person. Trying to leave this company.
