Imagine you are a hiring manager reviewing candidates Linkedin profile. You see that they are a big fan of “stars” like Oleg Vishnepolsky and Brigette Hyacinth. Would that influence your hire / no hire decision? Thank you
Agree, that Oleg guy is a joke. But he’s a big hit on LinkedIn somehow.
I guess the formula is: 1) content - he “feeds the hungry”, reassuring naive job seekers that they are good, it’s cruel employees who miss such a talent (so they like & agree in comments like crazy) 2) Linkedin algorithms - prioritising this content in newsfeeds, because it is popular... even though it is also a crap. I am just wondering how does engagement with this content look like in the eyes of a potential employer? Will they dismiss such a candidate an “not so smart”, “naive” or not?
Wait till Blind gets hacked...
Oleg is my Jesus
If someone interacts with their post, I disconnect them from my profile. Easy way to clean shit from my feed.
I did not know who the Oleg guy was so I checked his linkedin. Laughed. Does he get paid for posting this crap? If yes, he is the smart guy.
I saw that Brigette (the other profile similar to Oleg) sells the book and some training. Oleg’s account tags her in posts from time to time, and they copy-paste each other’s texts. I guess that’s their “monetisation model” 🤪
You can just block them. I did it a while ago and I totally forgot about him until seeing this thread
I blocked them too. Super annoying
As soon as any of my LI connections reposts or likes or whatever Oleg’s post that makes Oleg to appear in my feed I ban that reposter forever.

I will tell them: I once hired a candidate with no experience He was a regular cocaine abuser Everyone I worked with was opposed to this decision They said ‘you are crazy’, ‘he will ruin the company’, ‘he is an addict’ But I saw something different. I saw someone I could mentor from being addicted to coke to being addicted to code. I decided to give him a chance Which btw means that you are not getting hired because Mr. Cokehead will start next week.

Addicts may need a chance but Horrible idea to penalise a non addict for an addict.
