Not for that difference in TC. You’ll likely have longer commute (unless you’re already living on the west side) and possibly longer hours too.
The title VP is for engineering role as well?
VP is for anyone with 6+ yoe and meets the the pay band.
I did it long time ago and still regret it today. I feel so isolated from the rest of the world at Goldman and the yearly compensation raise was so low...

For Bloomberg you are generating revenue, for GS you are nothing but a cost. Now use that analogy and decide if it's a good move.
1. I have had 2 friends move to GS from Bloomberg. They both only stayed there for 1-2 years. Reasons they didn't last long at GS included quality of software was poor, you're a cost rather than a revenue driver and there isn't really an ops department (e.g. console room) so rollout, machine management, issue escalation was always managed by the devs (they got woken up ALOT). I also seem to remember them saying issues/bugs were tracked in Outlook lol. 2. If you do move, I think you should be asking for more than a 20K rise. I would push for at least 40k. Good luck
Exactly.. need $40k raise for the loss of dignity. You won't feel too sorry for the decision.

Not for this kind of difference! GS is not exactly a great place to work, why switch over small change while burning bridges and relationships?
