I think a lot of coders might be similarly inclined. Started leetcoding sometime ago even though I did my masters in CS around half a decade ago and the way I’ve been approaching my code has largely influenced the way I approach learning an instrument and writing music. Also it’s getting really heavy multitasking because I want to be good at music but also have career ambitions and then there is my little social life as well. Been going around in circles with these things for the last 2 - 3 years and I am struggling to find a solution to do justice to any of these things. I do something for 2-3 weeks, and then loose momentum at it because of work, personal life etc. Anyone with the same issue and have success? Any solution to this? TC 115k and Indian if that helps in any way.
Yes I’d love to :)
Haha me too. Always looking for people to jam with!
I'm a guitarist too. Leetcode takes so much time, it's crazy. Before leetcode, I had a fun, relaxed life while still performing great at work. On weekdays, I could churn solid code, keep so much state in my mind and developed a lot of intuition for how systems could work. On weekends, I'd go to music festivals, outdoor events, socialize with friends. I became an engineer with a personality and developed empathy and decision making skills. After leetcode, I've just become a duller human being. Need to spend an inordinate amount of time on an edge case of some idiotic dp problem with no consequence in the real world except higher TC in a shorter wlb company. I'm absolutely sure that I was happier with the small set of friends and people I built a life with before leetcode sucked all of us dry. Also, wanna jam sometime?
