Yelp’s future after today’s crash?!

@yelp : How’s the morale over at Yelp? Is the team still motivated? How do you now attract talented individuals from the industry, given so many growing pains (with your new AD revenue model, strong competition from Google Reviews, etc.) Just trying to comprehend the situation, as an outsider, and a prospective new hire. Thank you.

Same way snap does. Give away a bunch of worthless shares

Morale seems fine. Not the first time it’s happened. Good opportunity for a stock buyback.

How’s that worked out so far?

Hopefully the future brings little more than the company going under for good.

Time for some layoffs. Sorry to see you all go through that.

Joining yelp soon. This is making me nervous.

You’re leaving msft for a sleazy review site? Hope you’re getting a huge comp bump.

They have a fragile business model

Yelp is still a good idea, but it feels like they haven’t spent a dime on usability in the past decade. Google Maps and Reviews will easily take them out. Not that Google is doing a great job, either, but the Maps integration gives Google a major advantage.

Still pretty confident. Plus, time for my ESPP to invest! Lol

I hope you’re better at coding than investment strategies.

You have to think long term. Otherwise every stock move will freak you out and it‘s a good time to buy cheap :)

Oracle Hi Cortana Nov 11, 2018

Yelp seems to be feeding a lot of kool-aid.
