best laptop to buy girlfriend who is starting grad school
she will doing MS in biology and would be doing zero coding right now, we are thinking of Macbook or Surface Pro.
Price point? The new dell XPS are light af and very nice.
HP envy or Hp Spectre or MacBook pro if have more budget

MacBook Air. Not very expensive, very reliable, lightweight, and wield-y. And macOS is such a pleasure to use =)
Just get a MacBook and call it a day (refurbs are good options)
If you think your relationship will last longer then buy any of Mac, you don’t need to worry about buying again... If you are not sure or kind of may be then buy windows laptop, you don’t need to worry about “who” is going to buy her after ~3 years, once this one breaks(laptop and relationship) 😎😃
