have sent out multiple in-mails to university recruiters at FAANG with job descriptions and my resume, none of them replied. Not sure if its the hiring freeze or something else. whats the best way to reach recruiters?
Unspoken rule is you dont contact them, they will contact you if they find you suitable
Possibly the worst advice of this week. If someone had given me this and I had followed it I would be jobless and so would be most non Ivy League folks
It is not bad advice considering how busy recruiters can get. Adding to that pile will sometimes work against you unless you were given the recruiters contact info from someone already in the company. Quick and Messy way = spam recruiter Professional and Efficient = Build connection with current employee and get a referral/direct and personal connection to a recruiter You gain much more in every aspect with the latter

November-December are usually slow. Also linked inMails work. So keep doing those and hit as many recruiters as you can. One of the thing you could do is reach out to recruiter who is relatively new to their job or industry. They will be eager to respond. You could also try to email on work emails. It is first initial followed by last name (although not always true) and may not work. If you have school alums that is another source. I have many folks from my school blindly inMail me and I gladly refer them. You could also try to search for engineers in second connection. However the best way is visiting career fairs. You get face to face with recruiters and their work email address. *Edit* On hacker news there is “who’s hiring post” and I have seen amazon and Microsoft a lot with direct contact info
Much appreciated. Those are really solid advices 👌
The thing about InMails is that a lot of times they go to spam, so don’t assume they’re ignoring you on purpose. Also, this time of year is super slow.
Focus less on recruiters and more on getting in contact with someone in the company and work your way to a referral. At times on many profiles it even says to email them directly if interested in roles while listing their company email, look out for those as well. But as someone said before, recruiters will contact you. Many know how to use and abuse LinkedIn and will spam your inbox if their current filter applies to you.
