if/when boradcom acquires symantecs EBU then we fall under broadcoms severance plan. two questions: 1. can anybody comment on what their plan consists of? 2. is boradcom requored to give severence to everybody during a large layoff
When avgo acquired broadcom, they did offer 1.5x salary for those identified as to be layed off but needed for help during 1 year transition.
CA Warn Act applies to all companies.
I’m not sure if CA warn act applies if you live in cali but have a remote office... does anybody know?
The way this seems to be lining up... Broadcom will send you an offer or you might be left at RemainCo. Seems like they are going to do as much as they can to not pay severance IMO.
Plus, If you refuse Broadcom’s offer, you don’t get severance.
Severance will be paid from Symantec if your are not hired on by broadcom... Verified by my director.
But that puts you in limbo for possibly months
Yep, total limbo. BC is only going to make offers to about half, maybe a bit more, of the current EBU org. The rest will receive a severance package from Symantec, and the sorting out process will take several months. If your below director level, you should job search ASAP.
Does anyone know when the offer letters or severance will come? I am thinking early November.
I think it's 2 weeks for every year of service
