myself, had a ba in journalism. ended up getting the bs engineering. haven't looked back, though part of my motivation was pure interest in the subject matter.

I think I would enjoy engineering, initially entered school for it but plans changed during the recession

I get that. for me, I had no interest in it out of high school. always fascinated with computers, hence the current career.
