crazy high salaries in Manhattan?
so I’ve seen all these crazy salaries in SV for FAANG. Does FAANG pay that well in manhattan as well or should I try to go for finance companies? Not down for 80 hour weeks either Edit: TC: 160k YoE: 5 Means by crazy: 300k+ TC
They do pay high.. I know from a while.. but their Job security Sucks big time.. its all trading money ...thats their backup unlike tangible products, tech produces

Yea thats Tech products are not the necessary products but still we hold values... in trading, their asset is CDOs which is just an inflated balloon of nothing.. Last recession Lehman had leverage of 31.. Can you fukin Believe that...and govt let it run like that for years
Yes, FAANG pays generally the same in NYC as it does for SV.
Getting to staff is not easy at all though. 10 year journey and only the best get there
"crazy" is in the eye of the beholder crazy to one person is common sense to another but I see no TC and YoE mentioned, so what's "crazy"? is it reprensentative of the median, or which percentile?

That is typical for a few YoE at FB/Snap/Netflix. One can reach $500k+ at staff levels. There is no need to be alarmed.
