No one at Microsoft has EVER coded in java, if you so much as breath the word java you’re fired on the spot....of course they hire java engineers almost every major company hires based on general skills, intelligence and experience not language specifics

Can you read lol

Sorry can’t read your response, I only know enough English to respond about java at Microsoft and to explain my situation

OP - Yes. For many companies, language is not a concern as long as you add value.

Microsoft abshx Aug 19, 2018

We code majority in C#, but I️ wouldn’t sweat it that much, C#’s syntax is extremely similar to Java’s.

It’s a shame C# wasn’t more open from the beginning. It’s probably the best general purpose language I’ve used, all things considered.

I thought the same, until I learned Kotlin. It makes C# feel like Java!

When interviewing, I don't care what language you know. I do care about design, and that you're proficient in _some_ language.

I joined with similar, but my languages were flipped. Mostly c/c++ and some java dev work. Never had touched C# before that point. It was super easy to learn on the job.

If you really want to work with java there are several orgs that have android apps or other java stuff.

Android apps are written in Java. We have hundreds of them. So yes.
