does it happen at your company? in my org whenever a sev2 or sev1 comes in the first thing people do is CYA and try to put the blame on somebody else, even if it's obviously a system that they own. The ticket will eventually come back to them but it takes a long time and operational toil to root cause and fix any issue. just curious what is it like at other big tech companies when it comes to tech debt and firefighting ?
That's one thing I like about Amazon's "Disagree and Commit" LP where when a commitment to situation is agreed upon after back and forth discussion and something breaks later on, there should not be a "I told you so" blame on anyone.
Frugality trumps all tho 🤣🤣

In my department, we fortunately have relatively few prod bugs. The finger pointing mostly consists of longtime employees demanding that their work is another team's responsibility.
One time, a marketing guy send a HUGE email chain blaming firmware for a lost $10M contract.

It's a toxic culture for sure. People hide their incompetence by blaming others. It is time to stop pointing fingers. Finger pointing gets us nowhere, Steve!
