Has anyone published a game on Android/iOS with moderate success? There are just so many out there, that it's hard to even get 100 downloads I guess.. Would really like to hear success (or flop stories)..

I can tell you now my experience. I have released two games on Android and ios. My first game I released in July 2018. Right now there are 10/20 daily active users. I have earned around $20 from the first game via IAP and ads. I still consider it a success since it was my first experience and I learned a lot. The second game I just released on 1st Feb 2019. It is called Spelling Go. Right now around 50 ppl playing it in both IOS and Android. The main issue that I have found in game development is not the development itself but marketing. And it seems you cannot do enough marketing without spending lots of $$$.
