folks, trying to understand what is a group PM at goog? is that above just pm? can one explain the levels at goog for PM?
Thanks.. I guess my question is more like this: I am seeing postings that say PM and Group PM for the same area online.. would one apply to both or just one and depending on the level you land you will fit in.. any input there?
There are two new headcounts on the team, one junior and one senior. Apply to one and you will be assessed accordingly to your experience
Gpm is pretty high from what I understand
GPM at Google is generally a VP outside. Google will down level you. Be prepared
So I heard from the recruiter and apparently the hiring teams reviewed me and want to proceed with GPM interviews.. frankly I wasn’t expecting that since I am not a VP now and also I tried onsite last year but did not succeed.. Anyway just wanted to know if I am setting myself up for failure or should I just ask them to interview me for the normal PM role.. or just let it be and if I do well they can always down level me?
Don't worry about down leveling now. Just put your best foot while interviewing and take it from there. Good.luck
