I’m being offered a director of client strategy role for $130k base and 25% bonus potential. I told them my #1 priority was more time working from home (i already work 2 days remote), but they can only give me 1 remote day. I originally asked for $125 base and they offered $130 to make up for not giving me more remote time. Should I counter offer for more $? if so, how much? $5K isnt worth missing 52 days a year of my baby’s life. Location is Orange County, CA
Can someone with real advice reply
This is Blind, half the advice is made up.
😂😂😂😂 most accurate thing I’ve heard on here
If WFH is your #1 priority, then no amount of $ should matter. Otherwise it wouldn’t be your #1 priority
In my opinion, spend as much time with your baby as possible. But def ask questions about the organizational culture there and work life balance. It sounds like you already know you want to work from home more and spend time with your family, there’s nothing wrong with that
Stick to your guns. Maybe offer 4 or even 5 days a week till your ramped and if you’re killing it they leave how many days you WFH up to you?
Sounds like low base salary for a director role. Is this a FT role?
Yes. Salary range was 110-120 and I asked 125 w/ tc $150. I’m probably underpaid?
That seems pretty low for a director level
Hard pass on it
Seems rather low for Director pay!
Since you specifically asked for $125k and they are giving you $130k, countering will be touchy. They will feel like they're giving you more than you asked already. If you counter I'd go to maybe $135k. Anymore could leave a bad taste in their mouth. What other benefits are offered? Perhaps more time off or the culture of the business overall could outweigh the comp?
Spending time with your kid is not “working from home”
That’s true but being in the same building as my kid while I’m working is nice.
I don't know. That still doesn't take care of the "work" part.
