in some posts about FB employee suicide, some of comments make me feel really bad. they are getting selfish, and laughing at that guy. when people die, it is the worst thing. how bad could they be to laugh and joke at that? they will know to be a human till they or their family face the same issue. RIP
I’d love to believe they were using humor to cope with a situation that made them uncomfortable, but that’s probably optimistic. There are just as many good humans as bad humans. Suicide is devastating for everyone involved. I am sorry for how you’ve been affected.
I didn’t see any comments like that. Which post are you referring to?
I haven’t seen that. But understand internet trolls. Some people aim for shock value because it gets a reaction. Some people just want acknowledgement, reaction, to fee they have impact and influence, to combat the existential dread and insignificance of the human condition.
Someone said he jumped because of job loss. Considering that a Facebook engineer is very well paid, and could get a job in a matter of days, even if you're in a Visa, many people understandably found it hard to have sympathy for him.(Of course, if there were other extenuating circumstances, that's totally understandable).
You dont have to feel "sorry for" him to not respond with jeers. The situation is awful for those still living
No one from Facebook posting?
Which post? Didn’t see anything like that.
