There is a free rider on my team who backstabbed me multiple times. I reached to this free rider's previous team member asked a question of whether he/she had similar experience. The answer was yes. During one lunch with all team members except managers, a discussion about this free rider happened. This discussion happened at least a month ago. Yesterday my supervisor and me had a meeting and then discussed about this. Somebody reached out to the big boss and said this discussion even happened. I told my boss that what I said was facts and I never lied about it. Anyways, at the end of this conversation, my boss mentioned something like work bully. I didn't say anything about it because I felt so random about this comment. I don't what to do now. Should I clarify more with my boss?
What does this said "free rider" do exactly?
Talker. Talk a lot do little. I was put on her projects to help her deliver. In which she is setting me to fail.
Aww man - that's gotta be tough! If you're publicly put on her projects then I guess is it not an open secret that you're the actual one delivering stuff?
Hard to understand what’s going on
Start over communicating.
I used to work with a freeloader once. I would do most of the work and the freeloader would steal the credit. And so I kept a few critical parts of the project as a secret from the freeloader. When the time came to present the project to the management, the freeloader had no idea what to say about the critical components. And the management realized what's exactly going on. It's always best to be passive aggressive rather than directly aggressive especially when it comes to workplace.
Thank you so much for your reply. I will keep in mind what you have said. And I like your name haha. Used to buy shirts from woot
