If you have an average offer from a good company, and the second company has offered you a better package, how to negotiate with the first company to increase the offer value? Do you share the offer letter to first company?
TC or GTFO
Josh Doody has good negotiating advice on his site.
Also Haseeb Qureshi has a good couple of articles, and the Kalzumeus blog.
Generally, you don’t share the details. You just simply ask for more. You can vaguely tell them you have another offer, and ask for a number that’s about 5% more than your highest offer. Any information you share with the recruiter can and will be used against you. FANG recruiters generally knows what all the other FANG companies are paying. Saying that you have another FANG offer will not get you higher than what the band allows. Non-FANG companies just simply won’t play the game if you tell them you have a FANG offer. FANG offers are just throwing numbers out then fill the gap with sign on bonus.
