How do you guys negotiate if you only have a verbal offer from one company? What happens if other company asks for a proof? Since we only have a verbal offer how do you guys take this question and do the negotiation? Does all the companies give written offer over the email?
My technique is to always email the offer deets back to the recruiter after they extend verbally. Then use that email as documentation of the offer for other recruiters. Succeeded with this strategy at Google, which is the only company I know of shifty enough to ask for written evidence of offers to match.
Very unlikely that they’ll ask for proof, even when negotiating. Except Google.
This happened for me I commented in other thread. They scheduled a small meeting with me CC and recruiter. They actually saw the email and beat it. If it is actually a lie and the numbers are out of general range, they either ask you to show proof or go silent and send a rejection email.
