how to stop porn habit

If you feel like porn is hurting your relationship, making you compare your sex life and your partner’s body to unrealistic standards, but don’t know how to make yourself stop, here is how I did it: 1. In iPhone Settings app, go to Restrictions. 2. Make up a random, hard-to-remember password, write it down. 3. Put the paper with the passcode in a safe place that is inconvenient to access. For me, I put it in my desk at work. 4. Go to web content restriction setting and turn on “Restrict adult content” (or similar wording). This blocks most porn sites and adult web searches pretty well. It also prevents you from editing your browser history. 5. Exit Settings app, and now you won’t be able to make changes to Restrictions without the password. 6. Go back to restrictions. Type in a wrong password a few times, until it won’t let you try again without waiting 10 or 15 minutes. 7. Get another piece of paper and write down a bunch of random numbers to help you forget the real passcode. 8. Only go back to the paper with true passcode when absolutely necessary, e.g. if you need to sell the phone or add an important website to the restrictions whitelist. If you ever do go back, repeat the steps above. Now, when you are alone in the bathroom or at home and would otherwise look at YouPorn on your phone, you won’t be able to. Or at least, it will be very inconvenient to do so. Can confirm this works. I am now 1 year clean from my porn habit after trying a bunch of other ways to stop that did not work. I feel it made my relationship better.

What about porn in laptop? And who watches porn in phone?

Amazon thereyago Apr 28, 2018

Who doesn’t?

Laptop might be harder. Maybe you can install a parental control software and hide the password in your desk drawer at work similar to my iPhone method. For me, porn on phone was the thing. I never use a laptop outside of work anyways

don’t treat the symptoms, treat the cause. if you’re prone to comparing your partner or sex life and feeling unhappy as a result, shutting off porn won’t help. it will just delay the problem, but the problem will come back in a different form. try to understand what is important to you, your priorities and what exactly makes you unhappy about your partner / sex life. don’t get content with a simple answer but dig deeper, and ask a couple of subsequent why’s. only then you can start fixing the real problem.

I disagree that shutting off porn won’t help. In my experience, yes it does. Understanding what is important to you and what you want also helps, I grant you that.

This. Putting artificial restrictions on self will only lead you to regret and anger. Solve the root cause bro

For you, maybe nothing. For me, refer to first few lines of the post

Everyone and every relationship is slightly different. To some extent for every person that watches porn, it meets a need. Ultimately, at some level your brain says "why do I need to work at becoming aroused with this person, when I can just have that same arousal prechewed and spoonfed to me with porn?" You can compare this to the same sort of thing as feeding your body grass-fed beef vs McDonald's everyday... having a quick snack every now and then won't kill you, but if you do it everyday, then your insides will rot.

Join the NoFap subreddit. It helped thousands of people

Facebook Joyrider Apr 30, 2018

Can confirm, NoFap has helped a lot. I have a lot more energy, mood is elevated, I have more organic interactions with women, and my self-discipline in other areas (fitness, diet, time management at work, etc.) has also improved. Some people will say NoFap is a sham, but I think those people have just not tried not masturbating for 40+ days to see the actual benefit.
