Avoid teams with only Chinese or Indians especially with a Chinese/Indian manager
folks, anyone did h1b stamping with a receipt number only- without the physical i797? i recently scheduled an interview and Haven't received the i797 approval document yet. I did get confirmation that my case was approved online. Since my visa interview is on 1 week only, I am wondering if it'd be ok to go just with receipt number? PS: the List of required docs i got after scheduling the interview just says receipt number. but I want to know if people have done it before.
I-797 is the only document that the Visa Officer will be interested in apart from your Passport. Better to postpone your Interview.
Wait for i797. Department of state has no access to USCIS database.
Wait, that’s the only thing they asked to see in my case as well
You will need it.. You won't even be let inside the consulate in some cases without one. And even if you did get past that, chances of getting 221g (administrative processing) is more likely, which could easily be upto 8 weeks..
Hi @dropitlow - i am in the same situation. Any help is much appreciated
I-797 is something that is needed. Better to wait until you get a hard copy of I-797 approval. Don’t complicate your case by going to the interview with a receipt!
