I am on h1b but i really want to work for a startup. I am super bored of working at Amazon and have the same feeling about other big companies. But at the same time I cant really afford the risk of getting laid off because I am on h1b. So my question is does layoff or performance issues are more at start ups than big conpanies? In big companies even if they want to fire you get 2-3 months time in which you can find new job but it might not be same at startups?
Startups can be rewarding if you passionately believe in the mission and it’s growing but it is super high risk. They can go bust at any time especially if they are early stage. I would recommend at least going for something post Series A and make sure they have deep pocket investors. You can lookup funding rounds through crunchbase. Be very careful of startups that will quickly hire you with no vetting. They may try to use your H1B situation to pressure you into working for peanuts. Good luck OP!

DM me your background. We are looking for developers at our startup and are building something unique to help companies manage software stacks- (if you’re interested)
I have offers from startups. But my question is more about the stability in startups.
Yea- I can speak about that as well. About to go into series A funding round (obviously still a lot of unknowns) but product is selling well in the SMB and Enterprise markets. Again, I want you to do want you need to be successful, but would appreciate speaking as well. Looking to grow the dev team to grow sales.
