it feels like im back in college and finals just ended. ask me anything. One thing of note: none of the companies that rejected me gave any feedback. should I give up on the bay area and crawl back down to middle earth f i get no offers out of these 6 interviews? Update: one offer just came in. Still waiting to hear back from two other companies.
Companies? And rejections?
Google, cruise, and another public company that starts with the letter N were rejections.
Aah sorry to hear wo/man. Although, wishing you luck to get at least a couple from the remaining three for some negotiation power.
What excuse did u give ur employer? Call in sick or something?
No employer to answer to. Funemployed. This was a bit risky, but I really wanted to change jobs!
TC?
0. Funemployed
how long have you been unemployed? do companies ask why you are no longer employed; if they do, what do you say?
Google rejected you because you kept asking what the paper they were writing on was for.
I could have just taken a picture of the paper you know
How did you manage to schedule 6 on-sites back to back?
It was fairly easy. I gave companies exact dates to interview me and they were able to accommodate me
Did you have to take PTOs from your current company? Your manager can guess what you were up to?
How would u rank your interview experience with those 6 companies?
My favorite interviews were Lyft, cruise automation I really enjoyed, and Twilio; these interviews were more practical and not leetcode heavy. The other three companies were just your standard leetcode style interview
What about other stuff on interview day (other than the questions).
How long did you prepare? How many LCs solved?
I prepared for about two weeks before interviews as well as between interviews whenever I had time. I did the leetcode tagged questions for each company excluding Google, maybe 100 total. Idk
Wow...so you completed 100LC problems in about 4 weeks? That's 25 problems a week. 25 / 7 = 3-4 LC problems a day. That's not a bad pace at all.
Love the post. Best of luck man. Here’s to a TC of 🌲 fitty
That’s my only Christmas wish this year!
2 a month! That's slower than a snail. And I thought u guys build fast cars. R u interviewing for swe or for the Marines??
The spacing between interviews was fine for me. Although I noticed I was overly tired for some interviews, not sure if can attribute that to bad sleep or interview fatigue. I didn’t take the time to read up on the companies a whole lot, but I wasn’t really asked any questions where I had to show I did research on the company fortunately. One benefit to back to back interviews is behavioral questions. Sometimes I was asked a question I was literally asked the day before, and I would give an answer that was an improvement over the last. Also, it helps to order the interviews so you have the leetcode heavy ones back to back or the design heavy ones back to back.
