levels btw fb and g

was told by a fb recruiter that there is a “golden rule” (if you can believe such a thing) btw fb and g that if you are, for example, a L6 at g, you will go to fb as L6 too.

recruiter specifically said this is to prevent people leaving after a year getting a +1 level at fb and going back as +1.

true?

No such rule. The recruiter is trying to fuck with you to down level you.

It's not a rule but it is a pretty serious guideline at HC. OTOH, if you leave for FB, get promoted and return, the promo is honored

That, from Oracle? Talk about a cartel. If you had reasonable hiring criteria it might apply to you too

You can tell the recruiter that applicants have a golden rule to not accept offers not matching or exceeding current conditions.

The rule should be to down-level people from other companies... Oh, my bad! They have that already.

Yep, and don't forget that there is a "max" offer as well.

They'll try to down level you and "pay range" you every chance. Don't let them.
