Can somone please tell me about this role vs. regular SWE? How should I prepare for the interview?
They're basically consultants
The role requires programming skills and soft skills to speak with the clients.
(joining the pile-up) Listen to audio of crying children to prepare yourself mentally.
We are deployed on some deployment in some, could be foreign, country. You will be going onsite and interact with a client. It is up to you how much time you want to spend listening to the client and arriving to some solutions versus how much time you spend coding. For example I code every day, don't go to the client site that often, only when I absolutely need to (e.g. to deploy things I have been coding offsite). Switching deployments is easy. On a deployment you are provided with accommodation and food 3 times a day. People above this comment have no idea what Palantir actually does or were rejected, hence you can see obvious butthurt. Coding differs in a sense that you will be coding just for one deployment, versus coding for the product (all deployments) in case of regular SWE.
Can you share more details on what the interview was like?

Prepare by making plans to do literally anything else that day. Don’t work for Palantir.
Why not
do you want to be “forward deployed”? or work for ICE?
