I'm expecting a verbal offer from Adobe on Monday. Recruiter wants to talk on phone about comp expectations, relo, etc. This is for Bay area office. I had interviewed for the product data manager position for the cloud technology organisation. i do not have any other offers on hand. i have 8 years experience in this industry, just wondering what is the average compensation i should expect. should i even mention an amount? shoot for the higher salary bracket while speaking to the recruiter?
Shoot high with a recruiter. It’s their job to push back and put you in a good position to get the job
Do you know the level? 4, 5, 5.5, 6, 7, ...
For 8 years of experience as Product Manager, you can expect around.... For level 4, Base: $140K to $160K Stocks: $200K to $250K for 4 years For level 5, Base: $145K to $170K Stock: $250K to $350K for 4 years
Can't comment on numbers l, but it's gonna be less than the market. Compensated by good wlb. Put your best upper bound after doing a research in Glassdoor and LinkedIn.
This. Tell them your expected compensation. And don't forget RSUs. They have no legal way of asking you or otherwise finding out your current salary.
Thank you all for the reply. I spoke to the recruiter and he said he will speak with the hiring manager and get back to me. He hasn't given me any numbers yet. He has just asked for me for my compensation expectations. He did mention though that they don't encourage salary negotiations in Adobe. Is it true? What should I do if they come back with a very low base salary offer? Should i take it or negotiate with them more?
Knock knock!
Do some research on LinkedIn and Glassdoor. Ask him more questions about the benefits and RSU's. Give high about reasonable number and say that you are willing to negotiate based on the options and benefits.
