progressives and leftists: how do you feel about your salary?
assuming most of us here are making multiples of the median household income; for you left leaning folks, how do you feel about that?
I take solace that my taxes go to support the poor through tax breaks to the super rich that trickle down somehow to the average person.
I believe in the "progress" in "progressive." Through action and humility, we can help make some things better over time. The inequality is the reality right now, so do what you can to equalize when you can. Worst case scenario: I'm doing what I can.
I donate 20% of my net to local homeless and women’s shelters. The more money I make the more I can help the less fortunate.

People who think people with less than < ~20 million usd in assets as "wealthy" are misguided. The top 1,500 wealthiest individuals in USA have more than the bottom 60%. Eat the rjch

Also the top percentages are not static. In the US - people continually go in and out of the top. Some 11% of Americans will join the Top 1% for at least one year during their prime working lives (age 25 to 60), according to research done by Thomas Hirschl, a sociology professor at Cornell University. But only 5.8% will be in it for two years or more.

I'm happy with my salary and I don't think there's anything wrong with the fact that I make more than most people. However I also think I had certain opportunities that many people lack (like good schools and help with college) and I want everyone to have those opportunities. I also think no one should be denied healthcare, and a single-payer system is the best way to achieve that.
I believe in something greater than myself. A better world. A world without sin. (Or, at least, with appropriate measures in place to mitigate the harmful consequences of a handful of particular sins.)
