Most of the people from India are from either middle class or lower class who made it big in their life. Stay happy and blessed.
I like turtles....
My family is full of old money and new money. Amazing thing about America, no one cares how rich you were in India or your background or if you grew up in SoBo. America truly is the great equalizer.
I was born millionaire and in a rich household and then I moved to us and now I am on food stamps thanks to my ex wife....
Username checks out.
I used to play marble on the street. I guess I’m also rags to riches.
dude... become rich, and then tell your rags to riches story, not before! Its like you are still somewhere in between? and if you feel very content, forget about telling that story later.
Fair enough. What’s your minimum threshold ?
I used to play with a stick on the streets. I still do
Born in US. Grew up in a forest in PA. Had no toys. Mom made my clothes. First restaurant meal around age 12. Paid own way though college. Now mid 40 net worth over 5 million. I don't add it up any more. Parents did become wealthy as I became older but they hate that I've out performed them financially.
Sorry to hear. While sibling envy is common, parent envy of children is awful.
It's ok. I am super thankful for where I am now. It is a very different perspective when you grow up poor. I have to laugh when people assume I've always been wealthy. I appreciate not having to worry about food or housing just about every day
Used to work as newspaper hawker in the mornings(for my school fees), kids recognized me in school and i felt ashamed. Dad was pretty adamant to get me in govt office as peon after class 10th exams who would fill in water coolers as I had 3 months before results. Thankfully he didnt and i continued for class 11 myself and loved science. School fee was never more than $3 per month during my entire schooling.
I smile when people talk about how humble their upbringing was when they say all they had was mario to play and what not. There are people who never had a TV or a meal at restaurant till 23 :p and I am sure people who pulled themselves out much worse than this
Beautiful story !
That's awesome. Hope you still get to play cricket today.
Hopefully not in the streets here anymore ;)
