Salary + bump in title
Spoken like a true Google employee
Not growing professionally. Toxic work environment
exactly why I quit my last job
This.always this
When you are not happy!π
money right now since I know what I can make if I jumped. hard to give up great team and work life balance. other major reason is of learning slowed down. at that point I'd be willing to take pay cut for a role with steep learning curve.
^This is basically where I am right now
Is it a good work life balance in most of the teams at fb?
It's like love: you know when it's right. If you have to make a pros and cons list, you're done.
Some people approach decisions with their heads, not their hearts. He's smart to weigh the cost before making a decision.
Lol if you're equating your career to your love life I think there's a larger issue at hand
If you've been at your current company long enough, you don't have a promotion pending, you don't love coming to work, and you're underappreciated, then it's time to look. Worst case scenario, you realize what you need to work to become a more competitive candidate.
how long is long enough?
Generally, in tech, 2 years is okay.
when you feel bored, a void, or restlessness. lol
When you're burnt out like the guy in office space and you spend an hour a day playing Tetris in the company arcade
Not learning or being challenged, but in my experience if you are asking the question you already know it is time to go.
a better one somewhere else...
