what laptop does Red hat provide to his employee? Mac/Dell/Lenovo?
They give a choice, it’s all of them. Most prefer Mac or Lenovo, some cool kids go with that dell carbon x1. I don’t think there’s any limit on the budget, unless it’s >$3k. Some teams/managers push you to put fedora on it(even Mac), don’t do that, my 2c. Unless you need/know about Fedora.
Ok Great! Thanks:)
There is a standard set of laptops provided through IT and those include Macs and Lenovos, possibly Dell and so on. Choices basically include compact, standard, and high power, while there is a Mac and non-Mac version for each category, where the latter is often either a Lenovo or Dell, and changes with time. Anything outside of these basically means not getting a Red Hat laptop, but instead your manager using their budget to buy you something. Can they? Sure, but it's not common.
Can confirm. ^
Are you still at Red Hat?
I run fedora on a Lenovo x270. Being a consultant it’s light weight and work like a champ. Some consultants have macs but I haven’t used something other than Linux for years
I didn't get an option to choose. getting a Mac pro
