At companies that offer a shuttle from SF to the valley (i.e. Google, FB, Apple, etc) is it acceptable to work on the shuttle and 'leave the office early' to account for the commute back home while working the entire way back?
Yes, it is well understood at Netflix. Shuttles have wifi too, so in theory you could use the time productively if you don't get carsick.
Nobody cares how much time you spend in the office. Just as long as you get your work done somewhow
Yes
Same with Apple. No one cares how much time you are actually in office as long as you get the work done
You can leave around 4pm at Apple, depending on your route. Unless you’re missing meetings no one cares. You can even nap on the bus, get dinner, then work at night. No one cares, just get it done.
It is on the Intuit shuttles.
