It seems Amazon is seeing the same fate of Microsoft, when a lot of people are leaving. A lot of people I worked with or know from Amazon are leaving, majority are going to FB and the rest to G, MS, etc. I left as well and increased my TC substentially. Initially I thought of boomeranging back, but not at the moment... and I guess nothing will change, refreshers will continue being offered with 15% upside backed in...
This is what happens when one does mass hiring. But why people join fb ..other than TC, there are better companies to work for.
Well, as you said, TC, good perks, benefits, and still good challenges to work on. Yeah there some issues, but all tech companies go through that.
Those that can’t handle their shit always leave once the stock payouts are done. Floaters galore.
Same sentiment here. I left Amazon thinking I would boomerang back. But now after few years that desire is completely gone. Funny how seemingly small perks and benefits at FB/G/MS can play a huge psychological role in employee retention. No wonder these smart companies continue to increase their benefits over time since their data tells them how mass psychology plays out for benefits. I really hope Amazon changes its benefits policies for the better. I almost feel like Amazon acts as the talent sourcing firm for the other lucrative employers around....they really miss out on talent retention.. 🤷🏻♂️

Please share your experience working with Amazon. How was the TC growth ?
My experience was very good. Managed to get promoted. Left on a good terms, made a lot of connections. TC grew mostly from stock growth, nothing else. Peanuts as base increases.
