HR Issues

vengeance

Undisclosed canela
Dec 5

Someone I work with is using his title/position to bully me and my team. I know better than to go to HR. I have multiple offers and will decide this weekend which one to accept, so I will be out of the situation soon.

However, I want revenge. Nothing violent or illegal. No lectures. Just some good ideas. What can I do to this asshat? And don’t say forgiveness.

Yes, every bad person mentioned in blind is an Indian. So please just assume and show your support to all Indians. 😉

Record his conversations on the phone and preserve emails. When you are leaving, tell HR you are leaving because of this guy and send them the evidence

He doesn’t use email or slack, and I’m not sure about the legality of recording conversations.

It’s a small company, and there are only 2 HR persons - and they’re friends with the asshole in question.

In many states, it's legal to secretly record your conversations with him. That sounds promising.

You don't have to send it to HR. Send it to his mom. That always works. I'm 6, btw.

If you want to be really petty, you can always “accidentally” spill coffee on their favorite white shirt. Or hot chocolate on their pants. If you want to help people in your team you’re leaving behind, it has to be through hr in one way or another.

People have fired HR complaints. The response is always that the situation was handled, but they can’t disclose how due to privacy concerns. I’m not the first on my team to leave, and everyone remaining is actively interviewing.

Skip HR and send an email to your CEO when you leave. Have your teammates do the same.

I’d say move on and be happy. But of course you can come to the office very early and take a shit on their desk.

I will move on and be happy. But I will be happier if I shit on his desk on my out.

I once read that an interesting practical joke is to take a musical greeting card, remove the music-making device from it and place it under a ceiling tile so you can endless annoy the individual.

First of all, revenge will not help and the best thing for you to be happy is to figure out how to move on psychologically. That said, one idea is to give your boss bed bugs. You could also try some infectious disease, but that's probably illegal, though I am not a lawyer.

Actually, now that I think about it, the bed bugs thing sounds illegal too. That said, I'm not a lawyer.

Say that you leave because of him in your goodbye email

These days it does not work that well, but back in the day I used to subscribe such peoples email and phone to all kinds of shady sites and services.

Just interview and move on. Karma is a b$@&& and will bite in his back very soon.

Let that shit go. You’re already letting this person occupy space in your head that could be used to improve your life.

Approach HR with threats of lawsuit. Advise HR to pay you off with bully's bonus check.

I would say just ignore him. Or else dig two graves before you set off to take revenge. From what i have seen in my life, karma always comes back and bites where it hurts most. So he will get his due in time. You dont waste your happiness and your time thinking about some stinking hole.
