Get out of telecom. Joining T-Mobile was one of my biggest mistakes. I’m working on the merger and it’s a sad story. The company throws away their money. Vendors provide junk talent that they get for cheap and pocket all the money. Tmo doesn’t seem to care so much. And there’s zero emphasis on software quality.

When is the merger happening finally ? lol it seems the date has again been pushed back because of the Dish conundrum.

Look at Cisco, Qualcomm etc. They have a lot of opportunities for telecom professional's. Even Amazon to a certain extent

Just get out of Sprint and T-Mobile. Join VZ and AT&T.

I have applied to both these companies. But never got any reply from them. It seems for RF engineering teams , you either need to be permanent resident or citizen. My friend with exactly same profile like mine got interview calls from Verizon but he is a citizen .

You’re kidding, right? I’ve done work at all 4 and AT&T has by far the worst culture. Have fun with Randy and the Johns and make sure you do the mandatory United way donation!!

Apple seems to be hiring for RF Engineer's like crazy. I got a call from them just because I worked on RF performance optimization as a sw Engineer

I have zero work experience to show in software ! :( . Most of my work is core Telecom Network designing. More on the systems side. Designing and optimization using the KPIs.

If you want to work in the bay area, you gotta be able to code, that's the first skill any company looks at. Just start leetcoding, keep doing that for a few months and you will be able to crack those interviews

Will any company hire me without software job experience even if I start doing leetcode now ? They will all look for professional coding experience right .. as I am not a recent college pass out ?

I don't think so, one of my friend did get interview's from Microsoft, Apple and Google for RF engineering role. She had no SW exp, but was able to answer their coding questions and landed the job
