given a lot of articles on how bad Amazon is, scrutiny it is getting, aws troubles/competition, what do you think on its future? its stock? I talked to some former Amazonians some are happy that it is in trouble.
The articles have come out for years. it is not new. Antidotal experiences are not necessarily representative of the whole. You need representative data to evaluate properly. Stock goes up.
:)) in what world you live? So far stock is mostly flat or goes down. Competitors caught up already.
@infosys. You sure seemed to have changed ur opinion
Why do you have this screenshot. That’s kind of weird lmao
I just went to that post and got it. lol
Amazon seems to pull rabbits out of a hat. Aws, Alexa, Amazon go, amazon fresh, etc. I do wonder how many tricks Bezos has left. Amazon stock is flatlining even with these initiatives
:) interesting analogy. Amazon go is not that cool anymore, just a shop.
Many senior leaders have left Amazon over the last couple of years, that’s not a vote of confidence. We aren’t the only good online store anymore. We aren’t the only good cloud computing provider anymore. Something big and new needs to happen.
Exactly. Not the best anymore. Walmart, Target caught up, Microsoft already beaten aws. I have friends over there, some left some are still there. Not sure what kool aid the remaining ones are drinking, but stock is not growing for the last 2 years.
A lot of us have great memories of a company we loved to be a part of. Things have changed so much though. The memories take time to fade away 😔
Interplanetary future, via Blue Horizon. They haven't lost their mojo and action-oriented streak.
Here is my take. 1) Amazon will continue to keep dominating online retail and continue to take away share from traditional retail. 2) It will indulge in a massive expansion in traditional retail with new format stores. 3) 5-7 years from now Amazon logistics will not just handle 100% of its own packages, it will also open the door for third parties trying to move stuff from point a to point b. 4)10 years from now I expect Amazon's vision around healthcare come to fruition. Lower cost, better healthcare access. Prime and Alexa will be playing a very big role here. 5) AWS will remain the number 1 cloud provider. Yes I know Azure is hot on the heels but I expect Amazon's relentless innovation focussed culture to keep them ahead. 6) Billions of Alexa enabled devices all around you. 7) Insane profits to be unlocked when logistics becomes a revenue driver than a cost overhead like what it is right now. Also when healthcare vision comes to fruition, it will only aid this since employee healthcare insurance expenses will reduce , at an enormous scale because will have well over a million US employees a decade from now. 8) All sorts of investigation with regards to anti-trust but at the end of it nothing will come out of it. Because nothing Amazon does is detrimental to consumers. That is one of the main premises for anti-trust to be proved. 9) Internationally, Amazon will very likely do exceptionally well in India at the very least as well as in most of Europe. In a nutshell, Amazon is not going anywhere as long as it continues to function the way it already does.
Well all these sound very optimistic. As long as Trump is president they will continue being screwed, moreover Walmart and Target have a lot more cash to compete. People around me already started switching from Amazon to Walmart and Target. They say experience is much better. After Jedi, orgs and companies will naturally select Azure. Azure has deep pockets too. Europe? Maybe if they manage to replace all humans there with robots, otherwise warehouse workers will keep protesting there. India? Maybe, but there is Walmart as well.
