looking at how snap is crushed by Facebook and Google being sued in EU, Amazon buying whole foods tanking all retailers, it looks like tech giants will never allow any kind of competition to grow. how will we see the innovation beyond these walled garden
well those days were different. smart people can learn from history and don't repeat mistakes. all these giants have diversified so much that there is hardly any scope of total failure
it's not different it's the same. they will fall like other big companies have
Yeah, the history of global economics says they will all fail one day, and their resources will go to younger competitors that are better equipped for the realities of the modern market.
A change in technology is the only thing that can disrupt this as it has happened before. If someone nails quantum computers it will be the new king.
or DNA computing may be
Why is Apple on this list? Granted, it's worth a lot, but in which area exactly they developed groundbreaking tech. besides smart devices? (and if you look after Jobs, not even there) All their other "software" like apple maps, pay, music etc. is just pathetic attempts to enter an already mature market. When apple cronies (mostly in the US) will realize that even their devices arent superior anymore, and will stop buying the new iPhone, Apple will go down
apple is just as big, why do you deny that reality? Microsoft makes far shittier products
Big, just not innovative. M$ is shit too, xbox and office holding them afloat for a few good years now
I agree with every word you say. but somehow it is still managing to be able to most valuable company in the world. it's sheer money power (~$800B) itself is enough to buy so many companies
Ethereum, Nvidia, and Tesla are next
Tesla for sure. there will be other startups that blow up like Uber did too, just hard to know who till after the fact lol
I think they will be companies living on the blockchain and/or distributed internet. This is a new blue ocean like the web in 2000. It will be hard for the giants whose revenue is so tied to centralized internet to adjust. first ones in will have a great advantage as the ecosystem grows.
Someone somewhere said the same thing about IBM, HP, xerox, AT&T ... 40 years ago; then said the same thing about Microsoft, Oracle, Intel, ... 20 years ago and here we are 😊 . Only constant is change.
