worth leaving amazon for fb?

got an offer from fb for a cool PM role and the comp is ~2x what i am paid here. but given the negative stories about facebook, i am really worried about the culture and having that brand on my resume. what do folks here think? people of FB, how worried should i be? YOE 11 TC= 310K Edit: To give people more context. I am on the FinTech side and trust is a major factor in my ability to work in this space. The reason FB is paying me this much is because other firms are paying nearly equivalent (but lower) amounts and their trust is in the shitters. They are compensating me to take a bet on them. I am taking a bet on them but still worried about FB. Thanks for all your comments on this. This is very helpful to help me make up my mind.

So FB is paying you 620k? I say deal with it.

Thanks. I guess I need to man up and deal with it

I mean, it depends on each person’s experience at Facebook. What I have heard from people close to me that moved from either Google or Amazon to Facebook is that the culture is brutal and stress is awful. And the people I know from Amazon that went to Google were at AWS at some high visibility teams. I personally would not go to Facebook, I fear it’d be more stressful than Amazon.

Wait ~600K at FB??? Dayum, that’s a tough one

my role at Amazon is pretty awful in terms of stress but I love the space I am in. The major cause of stress is the lack of resources at Amazon. I am stuck doing the work of 2-3 PMs. Team is not funded to be sustainable. currently work from 8 am to 6 pm every week and then work from 5pm on sundays. That’s stressful but now feels normal. Fb has a similar role but more 0->1 and I think the stress will be equivalent, if not more. The only good thing is that, fb has funded that team with 50+ engineers. My current team has 17 engineers but has ambitions greater than FB.

The reality is there will be negative stories anywhere you go. I think there's something reassuring about having the option to go anywhere which I think you do given that you're at amazon and you have an offer from FB so take that into consideration and realize that you wont ever be stuck or anything like that if you take Facebook. Did you enjoy the interviews with your potential team members? What was the overall impression of your potential manager. Lots of things are team dependent so while the negative aspects are important to consider, if you have a great team behind you I think the negative aspects of a company wont affect you too much. Congrats! This is exciting news. Take a chance if you think it's cool. Just my two cents.

You're getting offered 620k as a PM and you see it as a bad thing? Honestly sounds like they're severely high-balling and you won the lottery. Just go for it.

Facebook is as stressful as Amazon (I think even more) but if you can handle it you'll get paid good 💰

I'd leave Amazon for any reason. Leaving for an upgrade seems like a no brainer.
