The staff are generally nice and "family-like" and the office is pretty nice for a smaller company when not in a pandemic.
Promotions in title and compensation are almost entirely tied to just time at the company but promotion in responsibility is much quicker. The company hires for roles in areas that they still clearly don't understand.
Any insights into what it's like to work in Uber Advanced Technologies Group (self driving vehicles group)? How's the team culture? What should I highlight to stand out interviewing for pm roles?
Hi: friends at Intel, what do you think of working in this group? I would love to hear your input in terms of: how well the group is run, career growth, why a separate SW group while there must be software teams in each BUs, tensions/struggles across groups.....Any insights would be appreciated. #se...Read more

Saw a post in uber channel that would be interesting read for Aurora folks. There is a lot of discussion about why ATG failed, why it was being sold, etc. From someone who has been here 2.5 years, there are so many things that went wrong but ICs were powerless to stop. Here are the main issues that...Read more

Is Uber planning to sell ATG? https://www.theinformation.com/articles/infighting-busywork-missed-warnings-how-uber-wasted-2-5-billion-on-self-driving-cars
Had an onsite at Uber ATG about a week ago. The recruiter emailed me the day after the interview asking to schedule a time for a call, but never got back to me after I replied with my availability. Should I assume it was a reject? Does Uber ATG usually ghost candidates after onsites?
Uber is in talk to sell ATG to Aurora. Can anyone confirm? What does this implicate? I thought prop 22 was gonna bring the company some upsides. https://techcrunch.com/2020/11/13/uber-in-talks-to-sell-atg-self-driving-unit-to-aurora/amp/
I'm looking for a role at Uber and was contacted for a role at Uber ATG (Pittsburgh or SF). I also had my friend refer me for a role at UberEverything (NYC). I heard back from the recruiter saying I should just pursue the role I was referred to, but I want to be considered for ATG as well. My locat...Read more
Hi all, I'm trying to apply for a role at uber atg in Pittsburgh. Is it still looking very uncertain for atg or are they out of the woods and working on their autonomous tech? Also how is their Pittsburgh office?
It's so funny to think.. ATG acquired Otto long back. Actually Otto's business model is much better than ATG. With lot of negative rumors about ATG capability, eventually it ended up with Aurora and probably would work on trucking again. How is the ATG employees mood ? Unvested RSU converted to Au...Read more
Had an interview with UBER ATG today. I gotta say they were amazing people! Everyone was nice, did not encounter an single asshole during the full day of interview. Got a verbal swe offer from Uber ATG. How is work/life there? What TC can I expect? Unfortunately, I only have this offer (suck at interview). How much I can negotiate? I have 3 yoe, all at FB. Many thanks! #uber
I have an onsite with uber ATG next week. Is the interview process similar to uber SWE? Most of my interviews are zoom interviews (video conferencing). Do zoom interviews have whiteboarding or coding on a laptop? Haven't done a zoom interview before. Anything I should know about? Thanks!
No response from the recruiter after onsite interview at Uber ATG. Its been 3 weeks. Is it normal at Uber ATG that the recruiter would get back only if its postive?
I have been talking to Uber and they are interested in putting me in the ATG team. Looking for opinions from current employees about the org, work life balance and company/org culture. E6@FB, 6.5 yoe
